Gallery Exhibit - Some Call It Home, Paintings by Alan Gramley

Alan Gramley is a painter who also plays music and makes art in the landscape, using organic and inorganic materials. His works explore the resonant sounds of the painted image and the hidden colors of musical expression. Studying old master painting with Alan Marsh in the early 1970’s, he and fellow artists Robert Chapman and Tom Ferrara began working in abstract painting under the guidance of the master painter and philosopher Conrad Fried. Since graduating from the Maryland Institute in 1977, Alan has continuously made paintings, and his works are in many private and public collections, including the Library of the Federal Reserve, Circuit Courthouse of Rockville, Montgomery College Art Department and the Franciscan Monastery in D.C.

Riverworks Art Center produces Artist in the House Gallery Shows in collaboration with Locals Farm Market in historic Poolesville MD, in Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve. The Artist in the House Gallery highlights local artists. Artists may apply for inclusion group or solo exhibits in the Gallery and can find a prospectus on riverworksart.org under Artist Opportunities.  Riverworks was established in 2022 to provide meaningful, fulfilling and healing community engagement through the arts.
