Comfortable, quality heels have always been something I’ve struggled to invest in. As someone who works from home, they aren’t the shoes I wear everyday. And so every time I needed a pair, I’d find myself splurging on a pair of failsafe flats or sneakers, opting for a cheap pair of heels instead.
Needless to say, many blistered toes and bruised heels later, I’ve learned my lesson.
Regardless of whether you’re a corporate boss lady who lives in heels or (like me) you only whip them out for special occasions, every woman needs at least one truly comfortable pair of heels.

Comfortable heels do exist.
They’re just not easy to find. Well, for me, they weren’t. All you have to do is scroll through my favorite finds. By prioritizing things like arch support, ankle security, cushioned soles and wider heels, I’ve actually come to really love wearing heels—a sentence I never thought I would say.
I’ll always reach for my Birkenstocks or slippers (sssh, don’t tell) when working from home, but when it comes to leaving the house, a quality pair of heels has now become my secret weapon. They elevate any ensemble and effortlessly elongate your legs, but without compromising comfort (that’s the key.)
These heels actually walk the walk. And subsequently, so can we.

Our comfort criteria: Buyer’s guide to finding the right pair of heels
Besides assessing how easy they were to walk in, we evaluated all the heels according to Luxe Digital’s criteria for comfort:
- Heel height, shape and style: There are many different types of heels. Some—like your wedge, block, platforms, and espadrilles—are naturally more comfortable. While others—ahem, stilettos—aren’t typically considered comfort shoes. However, we took up the challenge, and managed to find the most comfortable heels in every height, shape, and style.
- Cushioned insoles: Does it contour to your feet? Does it provide ample cushioning? Does it absorb the shock of every step? These are the questions we asked when assessing the soles of the most popular luxury heels. Cushioned soles can be a lifesaver when it comes to comfortable heels, and a memory foam sole can be the difference between throwing a favorite pair to the back of your wardrobe or putting them on just to wander around the house for fun.
