History Happy Hour: Admiral of the Chesapeake Vince Leggett

Sandy Spring Museum is proud to present our long-running History Happy Hour speakers series. Tickets include complimentary snacks and wine to enjoy throughout the program.

Founder and Director of the organization Blacks of the Chesapeake Vince Leggett will present a fast moving multimedia presentation on African American History and Cultural Along the Reaches of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, including historical figures such as Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman’s early connections to the bay.

Admiral Leggett will highlight contemporary issues impacting under-served and over-burdened communities living, working, playing and worshipping along the Water’s Edge and impacted by sea-level rise and climate change prior to opening the floor to a robust question and answer period.

The Admiral will also have copies of his awarding winning book, “The Chesapeake Bay Through Ebony Eyes” on hand for sale with authentic signature.
