Talent Bios

Jenny Cavallero is a disabled writer and comedian from Washington, DC. She is a contributing writer to the disability-humor site "The Squeaky Wheel."

Rola Z is a producer and comedian in DC. She has performed in Montreal and at the Gotham Comedy Club at the Arab-American Comedy Festival. Her brand of comedy is “Traumedy” and her material encompasses international experiences, culture, and um, divorce.

Demi Chang is a multi-faceted performer based in Austin, Texas. As a Marine Corps veteran and second-generation immigrant, Demi offers audiences diverse and unconventional perspectives. She has performed at a variety of notable venues across the country including the Kennedy Center, DC Improv, and The Comedy Mothership. She has been featured in publications including The Washington Post, At Ease Magazin, DCist, and Inside NoVA. Demi also served as the Tour Manager for Best Medicine Brigade’s “Operation HEAL*ARIOUS” tour in 2023

About Improbable Comedy:
Founded by social-worker-turned-comedy-producer Kim Levone, Improbable Comedy has hosted more than 150 shows in local venues around the DMV. The goal has been to transform the industry by giving the mic to hilarious comedians who have been underrepresented on stage. Since our first show at Vicino's restaurant in 2012, we have brought big laughs to theatres, bars, swanky clubs, and people's homes. We now have regular shows at Busboys & Poets and the Arts Barn as well as bigger events with the Montgomery Parks Department and at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre.

About Grassroots Comedy Incubator Program:

Grassroots Comedy believes that amplifying the diverse voices of the DMV is critical. In the spring of 2023, Grassroots created and launched a new incubator program for women and non-binary folx. The group meets for weekly workshops, getting the opportunity to network with other comedians (peers who are new in the space as well as more seasoned comics), explore joke structure and formats, and – most of all – to build community and workshop material.
