Gaithersburg History Project: Discover Metropolitan Grove

join the Gaithersburg Community Museum for an engaging discussion about Metropolitan Grove, one of Gaithersburg’s historically Black communities.

Metropolitan Grove, now known to most people as the MVA, was formerly a vibrant and flourishing Black community. Founded by individuals who had previously been enslaved, it stood as a bustling hub during the initial decades of the 20th century. We cordially invite you to join us for an engaging discussion about Metropolitan Grove, featuring Arnetta Quarles and former residents linked to this historically significant community.
